NYU Langone Medical
Center’s Adults in Toyland Casino Night” raised $860,000 to
support programs at the Stephen
D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders
and the Department
of Pediatrics at
NYU Langone’s Hassenfeld
Children’s Hospital.
Held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at The Plaza Hotel, NBC’s
Jeff Rossen served as the night’s emcee.
The event, hosted by the Committee for the
Hassenfeld Center and KiDS of NYU Langone, attracted 600 New
York City professionals from finance, fashion, entertainment,
and real estate, among other industries, who are committed to
improving the lives of children being cared for and their
families. At NYU Langone’s Hassenfeld
Children’s Hospital, doctors treat
children and adolescents with a wide range of health conditions
at a variety of specialized
centers, including the Stephen
D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.
Children and families receive expert medical care and
comprehensive support during each step of the NYU Langone
treatment journey.

Blankenbuehler was played for guests, highlighting the
importance of the unique programs supported by the “Adults in
Toyland Casino Night.”
Co-chairs for “Adults in
Toyland Casino Night” were Adi Beltzman, Susie Block Casdin,
Michael Corbat, Kate Goodman, Kimberly Goodwin, Morgan Hertzan,
Patti Kim, Kelly Kennedy Mack, Robert Perretta, Harlan Fabrikant
Saroken, Valerie and Steven Stein, and Mike Weaver. This year’s
physician chair was William
L. Carroll, MD,
the Julie and Edward J. Minskoff Professor of Pediatrics,
professor of pathology, and director, Division of Pediatric
Hematology/Oncology at NYU Langone.
In addition to the co-chairs in attendance,
guests included: Carol Alt, Elliot Aronson, Ellen Block, Michael
Block, Casey Box, Alex Casdin, Scott Goodwin, Trudy Elbaum
Gottesman and Robert Gottesman, Kim and Larry Heyman, Richard
Mack, Stephen Mack, Maya Manley, Elisabeth Markus, Brian Saroken,
Kimberly Kravis-Schulhof and Jonathan Schulhof, and Edward and
Jennifer Skyler.
The festive annual event featured casino games, a
buffet, cocktails, a DJ, and a silent auction of luxury items
guests were invited to bid on, including a VIP set visit to
Golden Globe winning drama “The Affair,” dinner at home cooked
by the executive chef from Rao’s, and vacation packages to
destinations like Costa Rica and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Citi
served for a third year
as presenting sponsor of Adults in Toyland.
Since its inception in 1990, the Stephen D.
Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has
established itself as a national leader in outpatient treatment
of childhood cancers and blood diseases. The Center is named in
memory of Stephen D. Hassenfeld, the former chairman of Hasbro,
Inc. and founder of the Hasbro Children’s Foundation.
