On May 13th 2017, Amir
Dossal was honored for his work with the United Nations and in
the realm of partnerships by being awarded the 2017 Ellis Island
Medal of Honor. This incredible honor is recognized as one
of the nation's most prestigious awards. Usually reserved
for U.S. citizens who themselves or whose families have
immigrated from different nations, Mr. Dossal was awarded this
honor as a international recipient. |
The Ellis Island Medal
of Honor is presented annually to a select few as a recognition
of their respective accomplishments and how those
accomplishments serviced the United States. The award is
sponsored by the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations, or
NECO, and is intended to highlight the incredible benefits that
people of a avariety of ethnic and national backgrounds provide
to our nation, the 'melting pot' that is America |
By receiving this award,
Mr. Dossal joins an incredibly distinguished group, historically
including six U.S. Presidents, Hillary Clinton, Elie Wiesel, and
Rosa Parks, and this particular year including Buzz Aldrin,
Joahn Kasich, Indra Nooyi, Malala Yousafzai, Fareed Zakaria,
Loreen Arbus, Peter Cuneo, Mindy Grossman, Noel Lateef, Sherry
Lansing, Dinesh Paliwal, Hon. Azita Raji and General Suzanne P.
Vares-Lum. All these awardees have been honored for
providing incredible benefits to our nation and the world in
their own respective fields. |
