Work Life Matters Magazine held
the 11th
Annual Work Life Matters Gala honoring Top Companies for
LGBT Equality on
October 24th, 2013 at Club 101 in New York City. Lori
Sokol, Ph.D., Founder & Publisher of Work
Life Matters Magazine, hosted
the event with over 200 VIPs ranging from corporate
executives, performing
artists, celebrities, philanthropists, authors, models,
entrepreneurs, TV news media, and activists.
Lori Sokol,
Contributing Writer for The Huffington Post and Board
Chair of Women's eNews,
is one of
the nation’s most influential writers and editors covering
women’s issues, politics, business, and LGBT issues.
Marie C. Wilson, Co-founder
of Take Our Daughters to Work Day, Founder & President
Emerita The White House Project & Ms. Foundation for Women,
and Mel Wymore, former New York City Council
Candidate, were the Keynote Speakers at the
event.
The Top
14 Companies honored by Work Life Matters Magazine for their
Pioneering Leadership in LGBT Equality for 2013 included: Avon,
CVS Caremark, Dechert LLP, Discovery Communications, Eli
Lilly, Intel, MasterCard, MetLife, Microsoft, Morgan
Stanley, New York Life, TD Bank, United Airlines and Wells
Fargo.
All of the honorees are profiled in the Fall 2013 special
awards issue of Work Life Matters Magazine which debuted at
the Gala.
This was the third consecutive year that the magazine
specifically honored top companies for implementing and
supporting LGBT equality programs and practices throughout
their organizations. This is the second year in a row that
Discovery Communications, Eli Lilly, Microsoft,
and
New York Life,
were honored for their contributions to LGBT equality.
