It is hard to believe that it has been
two years since Iris's passing - and
next year in 2011 it will be ten years
since Marty's passing. The Marty and
Iris Walshin Foundation would like your
help participating in a special tribute
to these two individuals who were so
generous to all of us. The Foundation
would like to honor Marty & Iris by
granting a wish for a child with a
life-threatening condition through the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since its
creation in 1980, the Make-A-Wish
Foundation has enriched the lives of
children with life-threatening medical
conditions through its wish-granting
work. The Foundation believes
that granting a wish to a child is a
wonderful way to honor all that Iris and
Marty believed in.

Congratulations to Our
Scholarship Winners! |
|
In addition to charitable donations, the
Foundation has awarded several
scholarships. Two Walshin
Entrepreneurial scholarships were
awarded through the Jewish Council of
Yonkers. These scholarships went to
graduating students from a Yonkers High
School who have excelled academically.
They must demonstrate an interest in
business, as well as an entrepreneurial
spirit. This year's recipients were Mr.
Shaquille Dunabar and Ms. Lariannie
Medina Estrada.
The Foundation also awarded scholarships
to four students of the Cochran School
of Nursing at St. John's Riverside
Hospital. This year's winners were Iosis
Mednik, Gina Alvarez, Connie Irizarry
and Delgir Finota.
