Philanthropist Jean Shafiroff co-chaired
the American Humane's Pups4Patriots™ Gala to
pay tribute to the lifesaving service dogs at the
Brazilian Court Hotel in Palm Beach, FL. American
Humane’s Pups4Patriots™ program of the Lois Pope LIFE
Center for Military Affairs provides highly skilled
service dogs to veterans suffering the invisible wounds of
war, post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury. CEO
and president of American Humane Robin Ganzert,
Leigh-Anne Kazma, Abigail Trenk, and Sharon Jablin were
also co-chairs for the charitable Gala.
In addition to co-chairing the Pups4Patriots™
Gala and other American Humane events, Jean Shafiroff was
recently elected to American Humane’s board. She is already
an ambassador for American Humane and is the national
spokesperson for the organization’s “Feed the Hungry”
Covid-19 program, an initiative designed to provide food
for 1,000,000 shelter animals.
“As we continue to face uncertain times, this
celebration serves as a rallying point to bring us together
to provide veterans in need with the healing power of our
four-legged friends,” said Robin Ganzert, CEO and
president of American Humane. “Service dogs are an
invaluable asset to veterans with trauma, and our annual
Pups4Patriots gala literally helps us save lives on both
ends of the leash.”
This year’s celebration featured quarantine
bubble seating as well as virtual seating so all guests were
comfortable and able to fully enjoy a night under the stars
listening to live music courtesy of Alex Donner
Entertainment. Notable guests spotted at the event included Lois
Pope, American Humane’s First Lady of Compassion and
founder of Lois Pope LIFE Center for Military Affairs;
philanthropist Jean Shafiroff and Martin Shafiroff; Robin
Ganzert, CEO and president of American Humane; Herb
and Sharon Jablin; Sharon Bush and Bob Murry;
and Judith Miller, David Hochberg, Patty Raynes,
Yaz Hernandez, Alex Hamer, Paola Bacchini, among many
others.
Through the generous support of its donors,
including the DAV Gold Coast Chapter 133 which was also in
attendance, American Humane is able to provide highly
trained service dogs to veterans in need.
