Black Tie International:
Selected Cars: AR-1 |
|
The AR-1 is American Attitude-
Leading in style, leading in
performance, and leading the
super car pack.
|
It’s more than American muscle. It’s
a pumped up super car featuring a
twin-turbo engine blasting out 750
horses with 690 pounds of torque.
Simply put, the AR-1’s looks, and
performance,
scream Attitude.
Yes
the AR-1, Sometimes
called AMERICAN
'79, because It was made in
America (in Long Island New York)
and it was first introduced
to the auto world in 1979.
And
Now, it
is back- and it is faster, leaner,
and much, much meaner
than before.
First shown at the New York Auto
Show, and reviewed by AUTOWEEK (May
21, 1979), World Cars (1982), and
many others, the all new AR-1 has
maintained it’s original sculptured
style while introducing a series of
updated, edgier, features.
Today’s
AR-1’s engine is a GM LS/3 twin
turbo capable of race track speeds.
The braking system has fourteen-inch
front discs carrying six piston
calibers, with thirteen-inch discs
and four piston calibers
taking up
the rear.
A Hydro-boost master cylinder
insures that the turbos are always
free to push the car to its limits.
And
this street legal machine can be
pushed and pounded since it sports
and under carriage of hydro-formed
steel, with additional 11 gauge
steel in key safety areas.
The low, sleek body is built as
strong as the power train each panel
is hand made with carefully laid
sheets of fiberglass, reinforced
with steel in key points.
The suspension uses C5 components in
both front and rear, while an air
suspension system allows adjustable
height and spring rate. The stunning
interior is completely handcrafted
with finest materials.
The
AR-1 is American Attitude- Leading
in style, leading in performance,
and leading the Supercar pack.

AR-1 SUPERCAR
ALESSI FIBERGLASS
79 TALLMADGE TRAIL
MILLER PLACE, NY 11764

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in the AR-1.
I would like to tell you about the AR-1
as it has been my dream for than 32
years. I first built the AR-1 in 1979
and we debut it at the New York Auto
Expo where it was featured in Autoweek
May 21, 1979 and World Cars 1982. Back
then it was the only way to market any
car. As there was no internet or TV
Shows like today, back then it cost
$3,000 per week and that is 79 dollars
today that would be more than $20,000.
We did NY in 79 & 80, and Miami 80 we
sold 3 cars and built 4 than as just two
partners we ran out of funding, so the
car went to the back of the garage for
more than 25 years. Then family had past
away and they life money to me, with
them telling me to go follow my dream.
Now more than 5 years later you are
looking at my dream.
The AR-1 is custom built for each owner
to their Spec’s from Drivetrain to Tail
lights. There is nothing we can’t do for
you, the only things we will not change
is the body and chassis. As that is we
know these’s things work. The AR-1 is
built for you to drive and not sit in
the garage, I want anyone that buys one
will feel it is something they help
create and love it for a very long time.
Sincerely,
Nick Alessi
