Every year at least 1.2 million
children and young people are trafficked around the
world becoming victims of sexual exploitation and
abuse,
even right here in the U.S. Sex trafficking
is now the third-largest and
fastest growing criminal industry in the world after illegal drugs and
arms trafficking.
Take a stand and help make strides to end child
trafficking with the fundraising Soft Hand, Kind
Heart Hand Cream. Available in a new smaller travel
size, you can drop the non-greasy moisturizing
formula into your bag
and know you’re helping child victims – as each
purchase supports the “Stop Sex Trafficking of
Children and Young People” campaign and our campaign
partners.
Special edition Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream is
a protective hand cream that leaves your hands
silkysoft to the touch. Infused with soothing
angelica extract to help soothe and soften the skin
plus a note of
fresh citrus and warm amber for a delicate
fragrance, the cream helps provide protection and
care to children and young people trafficked or at
risk. Soft Hands, Kind Heart Hand Cream also
features Community Fair
Trade Olive Oil from Italy, sourced through the
unique The Body Shop fair trade program. This trade
provides a sustainable income for olive growers and
their families, all the while making your hands feel
great.

The Somaly Mam Foundation’s global awareness and
advocacy efforts have reached millions. In the first
phase of the campaign, The Body Shop has raised over
$1.5 million in funds. ECPAT USA have been able to
increase their lobbying efforts and help pass laws
to protect vulnerable children. They have also
created grant programs to provide specialized
support services for child trafficking victims.
Shelters supported
by the Somaly Mam Foundation in Cambodia and Laos
did not face a single day of food shortages in 2009
and 2010. At one of these shelters, home to
survivors as young as 4, girls are enjoying a new
building featuring a
counseling center, computer stations and improved
medical facilities.

About ECPAT
ECPAT International is a global network of
organizations working together for the elimination
of child trafficking, child prostitution and child
pornography. The network comprises of 81 groups in
75 countries around the world. All ECPAT groups are
independent grassroots organizations, working to
combat child exploitation at the local level. Their
size varies
depending on countries, but they are mainly
activist-driven movements, and very often operate
with limited funding.
Their core strengths focus on key areas of child
protection, where they are pro-active through their
volunteers and supporters, rather than large
administrative functions. Some of them are called
“ECPAT” while others have different names. All are
affiliated with the ECPAT network.
