On January
18, 2011, Design Center of the Americas shone the
spotlight on the design world’s preeminent pros with the
fifth annual Stars of Design Awards. The ceremony took
place on day one of two days of brilliant programming at
the design center including the second annual DCOTA
DesignHouse and the annual WinterMarket. A crowd of
nearly a thousand gathered to celebrate these incredible
design stars and to experience the premier of DCOTA’s 2nd
Annual DesignHouse.

a great honor to present the Stars of Design Awards
to this group of remarkably talented professionals,”
said Charles Cohen, owner of Cohen Design Centers.

of design.”
Established more than a decade ago at Charles
Cohen’s Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, the
Stars of Design Awards honor professionals who have
attained distinguished recognition in various fields
of design. Since that time Charles Cohen, owner of
Cohen Design Centers, has introduced the awards at
all of his Design Centers to acknowledge talent
nationwide. Cohen Design Centers include the D&D in New York, the DCOTA in Florida, and the DHC in Houston. 2011 marks the fifth year for the
awards ceremony in Florida.
The
DCOTA Stars of Design were selected by a noteworthy
design panel of renowned professionals and members
of the national, regional and south Florida media.
The 2011 Stars of Design were awarded to those who
are distinguished in their careers and well
respected by their community in the design
categories of interior design, architecture, graphic
design, product design, landscape design,
photography, art and lifetime achievement. These
creative professionals were honored for their
significant achievements and contributions to their
profession and within the Florida community with a
special recognition of their talents, ideas,
creativity, and business savvy.
