The World Youth Peace Summit which includes
the World Scholar-Athlete Games participants commemorated
the Institute for
International Sport’s 25th
anniversary.
The Summit brought
participants back together to take their
role as community leaders
to the next level
– that of effective peace advocates.
Approximately 25,000 past
participants of Scholar-Athlete Games and
delegates nominated by the United Nations
and other distinguished organizations joined the current scholar-athletes and
scholar-artists to explore their own
Pathways to Peace initiatives
during an
intensive academic program, which was
accompanied by cultural and athletic
activities.
Keynote speakers for the event included:
-
General Colin Powell
Greg Mortenson – Author of ‘Three Cups of
Tea’
-
Class Nobel -
Senior Member of the
Nobel Prize Family
“Dan Doyle and his team are on a historic
mission to world peace. This is one of the
most compelling peace initiatives I have
seen in years.”

“I have been a coach at the Scholar-Athlete
Games since 1993. There is no experience in
sport or education quite like this
extraordinary event. I strongly recommend
this coaching and volunteer activity.”
