Last Chance for Animals (LCA) held their
Annual Red Carpet Gala at the Sway Lounge
in Soho, Wednesday, May 18th,
2011. Hundreds attended the star studded
event, hosted by actress Leesa Rowland and
sponsored by Cesar’s Way Magazine, to raise
funds for LCA’s
animal cruelty investigations.
Nothing could
not dampen the spirit of the lively crowd
who came out to support the work of LCA and
founder Chris DeRose. Guests danced to live
music by Dusty Wright & the Twigs while
dining on vegan hors d’oeuvres by Franchia
Vegan Café. The brightly lit venue became
even more dazzling as guests arrived such as
rockers Bebe Buell and Jimmy Walls, tough
guys from Resuce Ink, socialites Robin Cofer,
Joe and Jane Ponterelli, philanthropist Jean
Shafiroff, fashion designer Nicole Miller,
celebrity magician Matt Wayne, radio
personality Maria Milito, Doggie Mom cast
members Karen Biehl and Grace Forster, NY
times food writer Florence Fabricant and
husband Richard, Dr. Deborah Levy and Dr.
Elliot Levy,
boxing promoter Aaron Braunstein and
Broadway performer Arlene Kieta.
Last Chance for
Animals, a national animal rights
organization based in Los Angeles, has been
active for more than two decades. Founded
and led by animal expert, author, and former
actor Chris DeRose, LCA’s roots began in
exposing the inherent cruelty of
vivisection. LCA fights for the rights of
animals by conducting investigations that
expose animal cruelty, launching public
awareness campaigns, pushing animal friendly
legislation and helping prosecute animal
abusers.
