November 2, 2012 - Sandy and its aftermath make last week’s Gala
& Leadership Award seem like a distant memory. It was, however,
among our best galas ever—in large part because of the talent,
accomplishments, and eloquence of our honoree Sarah Sze, special
guest Graham W.J. Beal, and their respective introducers, Klaus
Biesenbach and Martin Friedman. Approximately 150 artists,
museum directors, art collectors, and philanthropists came
together at New York’s Metropolitan Club to celebrate these
individuals and the AFA’s mission and to dine, dance, and
participate in a raffle.
The AFA is a nonprofit institution that organizes art
exhibitions for presentation in museums around the world,
publishes exhibition catalogues, and develops education
programs.
