The Auxiliary of NYU Langone Medical Center Spring Tribute dinner
 honors distinguished NYU leaders
Drs. Robert A. Press and Kimberly S. Glassman
 at  New York City’s historic 3 West Club.

On Monday evening May 13^th, Auxiliary members, friends and the medical center community came together to honor
 Robert A. Press, MD, PhD, Chief Medical Officer & Patient Safety Officer
and
Kimberly S Glassman, PhD, RN NEA-BC Senior Vice President,
 Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer.

The sold out evening began in the elegant Grand Salon where cocktails and
 hor doeuvres were served, followed by dinner in the main Ballroom.  Tables were decorated with sterling candelabras surrounded by spring flowers and votive candles.

 The room had a sense of community. There was an engaging atmosphere with everyone interested in what was happening.
Each one, genuinely happy and enjoying themselves.

As part of the tribute, a huge screen appeared showing the extraordinary efforts of physicians and nurses in the evacuation of patients from Tisch Hospital during Hurricane Sandy and the clean-up efforts afterward. Those involved in the evacuation present in the audience were acknowledged with a huge applause.

 Attendees included, NYU Langone Medical Center Dean and CEO Robert I. Grossman, MD,  Bernard Birnbaum, MD Senior Vice President, Vice Dean & Chair,  Chief of Hospital Operations and Joseph D. Zuckerman, MD Chair, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and other executive leadership as well.  Drs. Andrew and Irma Hilton and Mr. & Mrs. William Constantine and a large segment of the Medical Center community were also present.

 Tony Lo Bianco was the Master of Ceremonies.  

A hugely successful evening enjoyed by all!

The Auxiliary
 grew out of the Babies Ward Committee established in 1890.
Over the years with changing times and to meet the challenges of a new enlarged hospital the Auxiliary was established. Since 1958 to the present day, a diverse group of dedicated volunteers have committed their time and energy to enhancing the quality of life for hospital patients by initiating and financially supported many diverse programs and projects to benefit patients and families.
