The New York Women’s Foundation (“NYWF”) held a luncheon
hosted by Board Member and noted philanthropist Jean
Shafiroff, at Le Cirque Restaurant recently in support
of the NYWF, which is a cross-cultural alliance of women,
serving as a voice for women and a force for change.
The event featured an intimate conversation between Diana
L. Taylor, former NYWF Board Chair Alumna & Advisory
Council Chair, and Dina
Habib Powell, head of Goldman Sachs Bank USA’s Urban
Investment Group & Global Head of the Office of Corporate
Engagement. The conversation was moderated by Priscilla
Painton, Executive
Editor of Nonfiction at Simon & Schuster and former Managing
Editor at Time Magazine.
Jean Shafiroff thanked all attendees for taking the time to
join her at the luncheon. She said when you empower women
you also empower the families and communities they live in.
As an active volunteer fundraiser and leader of several New
York City and Southampton charitable causes, Jean Shafiroff
and has a particular interest in charities related to women,
animals and the underserved. Each year she chairs numerous
galas and host events benefiting not-for-profit
organizations. She will
be one of the co-chairs for the NYWF
Gala on
October 9, 2014 at the Plaza Hotel.
