Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by Going Gold
in order to raise awareness for pediatric cancer

On Tuesday,
September 2 the Ronald
McDonald House New York (RMH-NY)
kicked off Childhood
Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM)
by Going Gold in order to raise awareness for pediatric
cancer. Supporters of the RMH-NY, like the, New
York Red Bulls (Luis
Robles, Eric Stevenson, Chris Duvall, Kosuke Kimura and Eric
Alexander) attended the event and played games with
the children.

Ronald McDonald House New York provides a
temporary “home away from home” for families that might not
be able to afford staying in the city, while their child is
undergoing treatment at one of 19 partner hospitals
throughout the city. According
to the American Cancer Society, an estimated 10,540 new
cases and 1,350 cancer deaths are expected to occur among
children ages (0-14) in 2014. Among adolescents aged 15-19,
5,330 new cases will be diagnosed and 610 new deaths will
occur this year.
