36 Years Ensuring That Our Kids Count

On Monday, April 15, 2013, supporters and
advocates—including Washington Post Executive Editor Ben
Bradlee, Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Beast and Newsweek
Tina Brown, best-selling author Sally Quinn and Chairman of
the Board of Directors, Sony Corporation Sir Howard
Stringer--gathered to commemorate 36 years of the National
Center for Learning Disabilities (
www.ncld.org ). The
dinner, emceed by long-time NCLD supporter and award-winning
journalist Paula Zahn, celebrated the achievements of
learning disabilities advocates.

The evening program included:
Bill Ford Jr. was recognized for the work of Ford Employees Dealing with
Disabilities with the Distinguished Leadership Award.
Quinn Bradlee, author and founder of Friends of Quinn, an online community
that offers resources and support for young adults with
learning disabilities, was recognized for his tremendous
contribution to the LD community.
Honored guest Barbara Walters presented the Young Leader Award.
Honored guest Sigourney Weaver presented the Anne Ford Scholarship and the
Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship
