Kids’ Meals
supports in the fight against childhood hunger.
It is a meal on
wheels program for children. The 5th Annual
Harvest Luncheon 2013 was a heartwarming event. Lovely
speeches were given by Ruth Burrell, Marsha & Jim Braniffand
and “Mattress Mack” Mclngvale.
People in the
audience were brought to tears by the stories told by the
speakers.
As one of the speaker said "every child deserves a chance." And it only
takes $1.75 to provide a meal for a child through kids’
meals.
The
Royal Sonesta Hotel provided a delicious lunch with a
Fieldgreen salad, chicken and orzo, and a wonderful
cheesecake dessert.
One of the
surprising announcements was that Ruth Burrell will be
stepping aside as director of Kids meals, and Cristina
Vertano will take Mrs. Burrell place starting in 2014.

Part of the event included a harvest market, with beautiful
food, jewelry and Kids Meal regalia being sold by local
artisans. Portion of all of the sales went to benefit kids
meal.
