Former Beninese Presidential Candidate
Dr. Bertin Koovi
and the recipient of a
2019 honorary
doctorate degree from several Latin American universities
that have experimented his theory of Fundamental Economics
—a concept of Economics geared towards meeting fundamental
needs with existing natural resources—
is the embodiment of the power of communication.
Arguably, not many Beninese who have access to a mobile
telephone are unaware of Koovi’s robust presence on WhatsApp
or his appearances on online televisions operating in Benin.
The former presidential candidate is unquestionably a
national figure who speaks nine local languages fluently.
Though he is from the south, his power name,
Chabi Woure Boukoukpin (Invincible)
is in Bariba,
a language spoken in the northern region.
Dr. Koovi famously starts his quasi-daily audio messages on politics and
economic development on WhatsApp like a head of state, with
a solemn
Beninese men and women, dear fellow Beninese, this is Bertin

Africa must feed herself and the world |
|
|
|
Much-traveled, Dr. Koovi also enjoys engaging
with audiences outside Benin, as he recently did during the
2022 edition of the African Development Prize (PADEV), a
prestigious African business forum held from September 15 to
18 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Dubbed, the most prestigious event on the African
continent
by its organizers who describe it as
a unique and magical moment that places
you, Leaders and Builders, on the roof of Africa and gives
you the certification of an international audience,
PADEV is indeed a prime platform for the celebration of African
businesspeople of exception who stand out thanks to their
achievements.
The mega-event provides the much-needed opportunity for the continent’s
business leaders to promote their business and build
networks among themselves and with investors.
The 2022 edition of PADEV brought together
business leaders from 20 African nations and from the United
States, Europe, Hong Kong, China, Israel, and many other
countries.
It proved the ideal occasion for Dr. Koovi to promote the
concept of
Fundamental Economics
and to close a business deal.
Among other things, Dr. Koovi used the occasion to discuss his economic
theory, Fundamental Economics.
He started his address before the large audience numbering
in the hundreds by saying
I am not inventing anything that you have not already
heard elsewhere.
I am simply taking existing ideas to build a new theory.
He then listed the seven pillars of Fundamental Economics:
the provision of energy by the state;
the community producing 70% of the food it needs;
a public health care system;
an educational and training system;
a housing system based on the local environment, history,
sociology,
and more;
the people’s clothing based on their culture and their environment;
and giving the population something to believe in, or at
least controlling
the religious message preached by the religious and
spiritual leaders.
Africa imports $21 billion worth of food and
medication every year,
Koovi lamented.
It’s time to reverse the trend.
It’s time for Africa to export healthy foods to other
continents.
Dr. Koovi deplored the degradation of the environment which, he said, has
a strong adverse effect on human health.
He pointed out the use of chemical fertilizers and
pesticides which he described as a public health hazard.
The same goes, he said, for most pharmaceutical medications.
Pleading, instead, for organic fertilizers, he said
Let’s save the earth from man, let’s save man from himself.

What good is a theory if it is not put into
practice, one might wonder.
The answer came readily from Dr. Koovi himself who is the
founding president of Agrimecanic Sopra Politics Consulting
Sarl Benin, a startup specialized in the development of
agricultural lands, the creation of new agricultural sectors
and the distribution of agricultural machinery to ease the
hardship of agricultural labor.
To support the action of
President Patrice Talon
and working in partnership with the ministries in charge of
agricultural development, Agrimecanic Sopra Politics
Consulting Sarl Benin
has launched the cassava sector.
Dr. Koovi and his American partners have met with the
leadership of the said ministries to arrange the delivery of
dried cassava chips to China to the tune of 100,000 tons
monthly over a period of ten years renewable.
On top of the above, several other sectors are in the works:
sesame, tobacco, peanut, and rice. |

It’s no secret that most African cities and
towns are plunged into darkness once the sun sets because
the streetlamps don’t work for more than a year after their
installation due to the lack of maintenance.
Dr. Koovi has created a company aptly
named
Africa Power Supply Solutions SA to tackle this
daunting problem.
To reach his objectives in this regard, the development
strategist has partnered with an American businessman in the
energy sector,
Paul Jaikaran, CEO of Infinite Energy, LLC
—who is also the Founder of Infinite Farms USA, LLC.
Among other things, the two men have found Chinese partners for the
construction of renewable photovoltaic energy stations.
The Beninese and the American have met with African leaders to offer their
various services geared toward creating a Fundamental
Economy.
Dr. Koovi
is the co-chairman for Africa of a United Nations-endorsed organization,
World Harmony Foundation, WHF, founded in 2005 by Fan Lui.
One of the highlights of the PADEV 2022 was a high-profile
ceremony in
which the WHF donated 400,000 sets of solar
streetlamps
—the value of about $180,000,000—
to be shared among the twenty African nations represented
at the gathering.
The generous offer came from WHF members in the
United States and Chinese Shenzhen Bright Solar
Technology Corp.

Another highlight at the Kigali economic
forum
was the ringing at the closing ceremony of a small version of the original
World Harmony Bell created in 2005 by
World Peace Ambassador Fan Liu
who famously said
he is Chinese by mind
with a heart full of love for America.
The original bell was rung for the first time in 2005
by then-U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan at U.N. headquarters.
The small version of the bell was brought to Kigali by Dr.
Koovi’s American business partner mentioned earlier, Paul
Jaikaran.
The two partners presented it to the attendees who all rang it.
The same is expected at various important events in Africa
and elsewhere
for the sake of peace in our
troubled world.

绝大多数非洲都会在太阳落山之后陷入一片黑暗，这已经不是
什么秘密了， 因为此前购买的路灯基本都会在安装一年左右的时间里
无法运行。为此，Koovi 博士创建了一家名为“非洲电源解决方案
SA”的公司来解决这个令人生畏的问题。为了实现此意方面的目标，
这位发展战略家与能源领域的美国商人——美国无限能源有限公司
首席执行官、美国无限农场有限公司创始人保罗·贾卡兰先生开展合
作，并在此基础上，找到了中国合作伙伴建设可再生光伏能源站。他

年献礼联合国生日世界和谐钟的小版本“和谐钟” ，在本次大会上由
出席该次会议的全部非洲国家总统、政府首脑，以及商界知名人士依
次敲响。2005 年，大版本的世界和谐钟，曾由当时的联合国秘书长
安南在联合国总部亲自敲响。
在本次峰会上， 这个小版本的世界和谐钟是由之前提到的美国商
业伙伴保罗·贾卡兰带到基加利的。当时，两位合作者把小版本的世
界和谐钟通过电话形式向参会者做出了介绍。为了祈愿世界和平，小
版本的世界和谐钟将在非洲各国巡回展出、并有各国首脑亲自敲响。
