A Day in the Life of Michelle-Marie Heinemann
February 15, 2014
On January 28th I attended The Faberge Big
Egg Hunt cocktail party. It was completely fabulous and I am
thrilled to be creating an Egg for the event.

As

One of the beautifully decorated Eggs from
the Egg Hunt in London last year.
Another Interesting Egg, that was created at the cocktail

.it took the Artist about an hour.

All proceeds benefit Studio in a School (
www.studioinaschool.org )
which is one of New York's most respected children's
non-profits, bringing visual arts and professional Artists
to more than 150 New York Public Schools each year. The
event will equally
benefit Elephant Family (
www.elephantfamily.org
) as they continue to race against the clock to save the
endangered Asian elephant from extinction.
Mark your calendars as this Spring New York City will play
host to the worlds biggest Egg Hunt. Over 200 Egg
Sculptures, over two feet tall, each individually created
will be displayed across the city for three exhilarating
weeks.
In partnership with Sotheby's, the highly
collectible sculptures are auctioned off
at the end of the event, raising substantial funds for
economically disadvantaged children and critically
endangered wildlife.

When deciding upon a theme for my Egg, I
immediately thought about my country house and how in the
Spring all along the corners of my Veranda are beautifully
made nests. They are up pretty high as the ceiling height is
14 feet and occasionally a little Egg falls out. It is
always sad when this happens as my children usually find it.
We always marvel at the exquisite blue Mother Nature
created....Robins Blue. For me, one of the loveliest colors
in the world. Hence, I created my Egg after this....Robins
Egg.
Michelle-Marie Heinemann's Egg for The
Faberge Egg Hunt....Titled, "Robins Egg."
My nest is made of Steel that has been galvanized then
painted with a technique called powder coating, this ensures
longevity of the piece as it endures the outside elements,
my nest will look basically the same centuries from now. The
Egg I received was made of fiberglass and I decided to paint
it with Industrial paint...the same paint used on Rolls
Royce's, this too will last a lifetime outside!
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the event or
have a wonderful place to hide an Egg, please reach out to
www.thebigegghunt.org
as
locations are still needed.
I personally would love a tree, as my nest and Egg would
benefit greatly from one!
So much fun...and all for such a good cause.
Until next time......xoxoxo.....Michelle-Marie
