ST. PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION HAD THE
 "REAL LUCK OF THE IRISH" ON ITS’ SIDE

Our St. Patrick's Day celebration had the real "Luck of the Irish" on its’ side, it was another fabulous fun, fun evening. That night many of our VIP friends were able to attend. It seemed that many of them had a free evening except for my good friends Award Winning TV & RADIO HOST Rita Cosby who was covering the election: Super Tuesday. The elections were nationwide and always land on Tuesdays. This year, it was on the same night we had our event. Rita felt bad about not attending, not wanting to miss the celebration that we had prepared for our good friend Sabina Klimek, the Trade Commissioner of Poland. We also missed the presence of German Baroness Marion Von Buchard who was traveling in Europe at the same time. The Baroness stated she had attempted to come back early to attend our event,
but unfortunately was not able to do so.

Our VIP guest list begins with our long-time friend Award Winning Producer, Director, Writer Dean Love who produced and directed LIFE IN MARCH, FBI FILE, QUEEN ELIZABETH 1, THE VIRGIN QUEEN, and many other movies. Agata Duda Plonka, Head of the Economic and Social Affairs Section of the Polish Mission to the United Nations attended with her husband Financial Executive Darek Plonka, also Sabina Klimek, the Trade Commissioner of Poland, and her husband Economist, Wjotek Trocewicz, including another long-time friend Julio Pujol, Diplomat from the Dominican Republic Mission to the United Nations. Also included were European Super Models, Angelina Shepilina and Liga Freimane, and our own Irish gentleman Gerard McKeon the Publisher of Black Tie International Magazine hailing originally from Dublin. Due to it being a St. Patrick's Celebration we had guests Tomas and Susan Doherty coming from Belfast Ireland who came to celebrate this feast
in our beloved City.

That entire week before St. Patrick's Day, the whole city was celebrating, which started with the St. Patrick's Day Celebration at the Irish Consulate attended by many government officials coming from Ireland and New York City. The Grand Marshall and his aids was presented that evening to all who had worked so hard to put on this terrific event including all participants of the parade, their aides, and the hosts which were the Irish Consulate and the Irish Business Organization of New York Inc.

What is St Patrick's Day without attending the long week celebration in New York City? Growing up in Honolulu, we had put on huge celebrations for St. Patrick's Day. When I lived there, both the Mayor and several members of the City Council were of Irish descent. On the day of St. Patrick's Day in Honolulu the city closed every corner of the street in the Financial District, and they put on live bands at every corner intersection and provided booths for both food and other types of entertainment.  The whole city enjoyed these festivities. I have been all over the world and always looking for these special Emerald Isle celebrations when I happen to be in another country on St. Patrick's Day. For now, the best St. Patrick's Days celebrations I have seen and experienced were both in Honolulu, Hawaii and New York City. Sadly, London does not put on a big celebration for St. Patrick's Day.

One of these days I will try to celebrate this event in Ireland. Since I have been to Ireland several times, and stayed there at CASTLE LESLIE which had belonged to the family of the late England Prime Minister Winston Churchill and the Late Princess Dianna. I can honestly say that my good friend Tina O' Hagan is the best tour guide in Ireland – she owns an Interior Design Company and a Food Company and knows almost everyone. The last time she arranged a splendid dinner for us with the Uncle of Princess Dianna who happens to own two castles in Ireland and plan to stay at one of his castles the next time I visit. Having met Tina who knows almost everyone in Ireland makes our trip so much more fun and enjoyable. My friend Tina will be traveling all over the United States with her husband in September, and plans to follow ROUTE 66 from Chicago to California. I am sure that it will be an incredible trip ,and so much fun. We should all plan to do this sometime…

We delayed the program waiting for Sabina Klimek, the Trade Commissioner of Poland who was having a meeting with the Minister of Poland that evening. We waited for her because also were celebrating her Baby Shower. When Sabina finally arrived we began the program and gave her baby shower gifts. She was so very pleased to have received all these beautiful gifts for her soon to arrive, baby girl.

Our treasured friends and many new guests came to this fabulous fun night. As always everyone had a good time meeting new people and our regular attendees, and our members and friends of Elite Professional Networking Group (EPNG), and friends of Black Tie International Magazine who all came to celebrate with us. The event lasted way into midnight due to our guests having so much fun talking and networking,
no one noticed that time flew by quickly.

The venue was held again at The World Bar at Trump Tower World International by the United Nations and produced by Gloria T. OUR ENTERTAINMENT PERFORMED BY: Paula Oleska, a Mezzo Soprano who studied singing in Poland at an early age, and after arriving to New York performed with many Opera Companies like Bell Canto, Amato, Brooklyn Lyric, and many others. Paula began with an aria and then continued to sing Danny Boy and When Irish Eyes Are Smiling - this is where all the guests sang along with her during the chorus which all thoroughly enjoyed. We had an Art Exhibition by Artist: Juan Fernando SILVA who is dubbed the Modern Van Gogh. He was born in Buenos Aires and has lived in Hamburg Germany, and now resides in New York City.  He is a self-taught artist who draws inspiration from the impressionist styles of Van Gogh, and contemporary artists and inspired by the vibrancy of New York and Germany.
