Once again I
am back from
one of my
favorite
things that
I love doing
which is
traveling. I
especially
love getting
about to
beautiful
places all
over Europe
including
visiting my
long-time
friends, and
meeting and
making new
ones. This
time I was
traveling
with Alicia
Lundquist
and Elise
Hill from
Nashville/Brentwood,
Tennessee.
They flew
directly
from Nashville
TN and I
flew from
New York
City, and we
all arrived
at the
airport in
Vienna at
the same
time, and
there we
took a big
car service
(as you
know, we
women travel
with a lot
of luggage)
heading to
the
Intercontinental
Hotel in
Vienna
Austria.
When we
arrived, we
are greeted
by friendly
staff,
ranging from
the bell
captain to
the
receptionist,
the
concierges
and all the
other staff,
all up to
the
management.
That is
truly the
reason why I
love staying
at the
Intercontinental
Hotels
because they
treat you
like you are
a member of
their own
family… they
are my
favorite
hotel in
Vienna,
Austria. It
was nice to
see our
long-time
friend the
Head of the
Concierge, Mr.
Christian
Plank.
Christian is
always nice
with a
friendly
smile,
always ready
to help. He
helps us
with what we
need around
town and
also
provides
directions
to special
and
different
places
because this
time we
decided to
go out on
our own by
renting a
car. Most
often, I get
picked up by
my friends
in Vienna.
Christian
started
working at
the
Intercontinental Hotel
in Vienna
since he
graduated
from
college. It
is the only
place that
he loves to
work at for
more than 20
years, and
he still
looks so
very young,
just like
when he
first joined
the hotel.
Again, we
saw Mr.
Gerhard
Harwarth the
Restaurant
Supervisor
has worked
at the
Intercontinental
Hotel in
Vienna since
he was 15
years old.
He was
assigned to
different
departments
and now he
is the
Restaurant
Supervisor
where he has
done such a
good job for
46 years.
Many people
helped to
make our
stay at the
hotel a very
pleasant one
starting
with who
helped
arranged
our special
reservations:
Mr. Adam
Kuhtreiber,
Revenue
Manager, Ms
Julia
Liebert,
Club Lounge
Supervisor,
Mr.Joao de
Lara Everard,
Assistant
Manager, and
at the bar
Michal
Zavacky, and
others. Of
course this
is all
through the
supervision
of their
General
Manager the
lovely Ms.
Brigitte
Trattner. So
if you plan
to go to the
beautiful
city of
Vienna make
sure to stay
at the
Intercontinental
Hotel. Their
website is:
www.intercontinentalhotel.com/vienna.
I also
want to
thank Mr.
Ronald
Hoogerbrugge,
the General
Manager of
the
Intercontinental
Hotel in Dusseldorf
Germany
there
website is http://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/hotels/gb/en/dusseldorf/dusha/hoteldetail
The
following
day, we were
invited to
visit the
CHOCOLATE
MUSUEM which
is called
the SCHOKO
MUSEUM. It
was arranged
by our good
friend
Ulrich
Friedrich,
the Export
Manager of
Confiserie
HEINDL Wien
who makes
the famous
Mozart Kugel
or the
famous
Mozart
Chocolate.
The company
also owns
the Schoko
Museum. We
were met by
the Lovely
Barbara
Heindl and
Claudia
Roithner-Klaus
they had a
very large
box and
other boxes
of delicious
assorted
chocolate
and
champagne
waiting for
us. After we
had our
champagne
and taste
all the
delicious
chocolate
and after
presenting
the Museum
a beautiful
painting by
Juan
Fernando
Silva loved
by everyone.
Then they
gave us a
tour of the
Museum and
we tasted
more
chocolates
with
different
flavors. The
Museum shows
the 3,000
year history
of the
chocolate
making, how
the company
got started,
offers a
variety of
workshops,
events and
exhibitions,
and free
samples
galore.
Barbara
Heindl is
the Sales
Manager of
the company,
and also
the third
generation
Heindl. Her
grandfather
Walter and
grandmother
Maria Heindl
started the
company in
Vienna in
1953, and
their
passion was
to make high
quality
confectionery,
and now it
is amazingly
the largest
producer in
Vienna.
After some
time, the
two sons
Walter and
Andreas took
over, and
now the
grandchildren
have also
joined the
company. It
has expanded
more, since
then. Their
chocolates
are being
sold all
over,
through-out
the European
Countries,
Japan,
United
States,
Canada,
South
Africa,
Russia and
Australia.
For more
information
go to their
website
www.heindl.co.at
Then, we
were on our
way to the
Wine
Festival in
Wagram
Austria to
the Anton
Bauer
Winery,
which is an
hour ride
from Vienna.
It was such
a pleasure
to see my
long-time
friend Toni
Bauer, third
generation
winemaker,
and his
lovely
partner,
sweet Lady
Gudron, and
Toni's
Sister,
Sieglinde
Bauer and
her daughter
Sonja Bauer.
Wow! She had
grown
really,
really tall.
As always…
we tasted so
many
tasty Anton
Bauer Wines.
These were
paired
excellently
with meats
including a
wild boar
ham, all so
very
delicious.
We started
our tour at
their old
cellar where
many people
who had
attended the
wine
festival
came to the
Anton Bauer
wine cellar.
We met some
of them,
which
included Adrian
Burry, VP,
European
Expansion
RE/MAX Europe
and his
wife,
originally
from Canada
who were
both very
happy to
hear someone
else
speaking
English in
the other
room, so
they made it
a point to
meet me, and
we had a
very
pleasant
conversation
.
In the late
afternoon,
we were
brought in
to the new
wine cellar,
which is
very modern,
and truly
state of the
art. It is a
beautiful
space where
one can dine
and there is
also a
beautiful
living room
at the other
side. Many
VIP guests
were already
there,
including
our
long-time
friends whom
we see at
every wine
festival in
Austria:
Barbara
Obermoser-Pondorfer
and her
husband
Josef
Obermoser.
Barbara is a
celebrity
make-up
artist and
has worked
with Stevie
Wonder and
other
celebrities
that come to
Vienna. Her
husband owns
an antique
store and he
also loves
to race
cars. Tony
and Gudron
invited a
famous
couple from
a local
restaurant
to prepare
special
Austrian cuisine
for the
guests. They
prepared
several
cuisines
paired with
the
different
Anton Bauer
Wines. Toni
and Gudron
had a lot of
other VIP
guests from
Mr. Josef
Karner,
Founder of
Falto
Glassperfektion,
Anton
Reithner,
Managing
Director
Ardex, Lng.
Roland
Hinterreiter,
MBA MPA,
Gerhard
Orsolits,
Atelier GEO,
and so many
other VIP
guests. The
place was
full and
apologies
that I
cannot list
all the
names of the
guests.
After the
great dinner
and food
pairing with
the wines
Alicia
Lundquist entertained
the guests
with
beautiful
music and
everyone had
a great
time. We
promised to
see each
other again
at the next
wine
festival.
Anton Bauer
Wines are
exceptional
high-end
wines and
very really
delicious. To
find Anton
Bauer Wines
in Europe
and in
the U.S. go
to www.antonbauer.at
Next we were
on our way
to my other
favorite
place,
heaven on
earth called
the
Stanglwirt
Bio Hotel.
We
were picked
up by a
limousine
which drove
us to this
beautiful
Bio Hotel in
the Austrian
Alps in Tirol,
Austria.
A 5 Star
Hotel (it
looks more 7
Star to
me) founded
during the
1600’s, and
started out
as an Tavern
then Inn and
then became
this
beautiful Bio
Hotel called Stanglwirt (The
Wooden
Castle).
Everything
is nice and
big at this
place,
truly impressive
and exquisite.
It was
really nice
to see the
Hauser
family
again, who
own and run
the
Stanglwirt
starting
with
Balthazar
Hauser, the
head of the
family
and his wife
Magdalena
Hauser, and
their
children.
Balthasar
Hauser, the
father is
the sole
managing
director of
Stanglwirt.
He is genius
designing
everything
at
Stanglwirt
(I always
admired his
great
talent. He
did
not have any
formal
architecture
training, so
all of his
designs came
from his
dreams which
are
fabulous).
Magdalena
Hauser
is the
mother and
soul of the
Hauser
family.
Magdalena is
the
Stanglwirt
landlady,
who with her
own warmth,
endearing
qualities,
and reserve
pulls the
invisible
strings at
the house. Maria
Hauser-Lederer
is their
elder
daughter and
mother of
Stanglwirt-Sunshine
''Leni.” She
helps with
the day to
day
management
and is also
in charge of
marketing,
PR, and
major
events. Elisabeth
Hauser as
the younger
Stanglwirt-daughter
and is the
acting right
hand to
managing
director
with
Balthasar
Hauser, and
is in charge
of managing
administration
as well as
the human
resources
department.
She is also
in charge of
the on-site
riding
stable and
the breeding
of classic
Lippizaner
horses. When
you visit
Stanglwirt
you can also
ride these
beautiful
horses.
Johannes
Hauser,
the youngest
Hauser-offspring,
and his
responsibilities
include the
food and
beverage
sector,
presiding
over with
his staff of
117. In
addition to
gastronomy,
he is
charged with
and has
inherited
Hauser
heart's-blood
of the
cultivation
of all
Stanglwirt-fields
(of which
around 51
hectares are
reaped) as
well as for
production
from his own
farming and
supply
chain. Trixi
Moser –
is the
famous
exception to
the rule,
she is the
only
non-family
member apart
from the
Hauser-offspring
to be
equally
involved in
the
operative
circle.
Having been
part of the
business and
family for
nearly 25
years makes
her the
first point
of contact
for all
matters
concerning
the
multifaceted
departments
of
accommodations. Richard
Hauser,
having
joined the
business in
1994, as the
head of
administration
saw the
continuous
build-up of
the
Stanglwirt
Brand and
with that
the
quadrupling
of the
business
volume
shoulder to
shoulder
with father
Balthasar.
Always busy
on his own
account,
parallel to
the hotel
(such as the
founding of
the
Kitzbühel
Country
Club), after
20 highly
successful
years in the
Stanglwirt,
he continues
to be
available to
the paternal
business as
consultant
and advisor.
Besides
their
individual
assignments
the Hauser
family has
to
Stanglwirt,
they are also talented
musicians.
Some play
instruments
and others
sing. The
whole family
sang and
played music
for us while
we were
visiting
which we
enjoyed
tremendously. You
can see them
You Tube and
down further
in this
article.
They also
hold
Tradional
Music
Festivals. And
in
case you do
not know,
many of the
champion
skiers come
from Tyrol
or train
into Tyrol.
In fact when
we were
there, the
sky
champions
and their
coaches were
also there
training.
We had a fun
cooking
segment
with Johannes
Hauser,
Alicia
Lundquist,
Elise Hill &
Executive
Chef Thomas
Ritzer,
who created
delicious
recipes for
us. You will
see the film
clip later
that we
added to our
show
Fabulous
Cooking with
Queenglori
European
Edition in
which you
can see on
You Tube. He
also makes
delicious
foods
which were served
in their
different
restaurants.
Chef
Ritzer and Magdalena
Hauser created
a recipe
book which
they
generously
gave us a
copy each.
You can buy
the recipe
book on
their
website.

all so very
wide and
spacious
with direct
views to the
mountains, (The
Austrian
Alps) where
you smell
clean fresh
mountain
air.
Stanglwirt
Hotel is
frequented
visited by
famous
celebrities
and
top government
officials
from
countries
all over the
world. Celebrities
of the
like: Prince
Albert of
Monaco,
Governor
Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Actress
Ashley
Judd,
Caroline of
Monaco, George
Harrison, Gloria
Gaynor, Heidi
Klum, Hillary
Clinton, Marcus
Schenkenberg, Mark
Williams
(Mr. Weasley
– Harry
Potter) Muhammed
Ali, Pamela
Anderson, Bing
Crosby, Clark
Gable,
Pierre Brice,
and many
more famous
people.
Stanglwirt has single
rooms and
single
suites, and
they also
have
beautiful
apartments
with a large
king size
bed with a
grandiose
fireplace
and a living
room, plus
an
additional
bedroom, and
your own
whirlpool
Spa and
sauna
including a
balcony
over-looking
the
Austrian
Alps which
is so
refreshing.
They have
several
restaurants
which serve
fresh
organic food
grown from
their
gardens.
And they
have the
largest cows
that I have
ever seen
anywhere in
the world.
They massage
these cows.
During the
day they are
sent them
out to the
fields of
the Austrian
Alps to eat
good healthy
fresh grass.
The restaurant served
7 course
meal dinner
plus the
fresh salad
including assorted
cheeses
(some from
their own
cows). All
are very
tasty and
good, including
the honey
served from
their
honeycombs.
I attempted
to taste all
their edible
foods they
served in
their
restaurants
because it
was so
delicious.
There are
many things
to do in Stanglwirt besides
the
beautiful
spas, You
can have a
wonderful
massage. You
can have a
lesson, or
ride the
beautiful
white Lippizaner
Horses,
play tennis,
or golf, or
fishing. And
during
winter time
you can ski
and have a
sleigh rides
throughout the
area. They
also have a
state of
the art Gym
that you can
exercise in
after eating
all that
scrumptious
food from
their
restaurants. If
lucky, you
may find
Arnold
Schwarzenegger
and other
celebrities
exercising. In
the evenings
they have
a live band
and you can
dance to the
music. The Hauser
Family that
run and own Stanglwirt, all
manage
hundreds of their
staff. They
all do a
fabulous job
at making
your stay
enjoyable
and
pleasant. If
you have
children
they also
have a
children’s
camp where
they can go
and are
entertained
by the
staff, so
you can
enjoy the
different
personal spa
treatments,
among other
things. Stanglwirt
had recieved
a lot of
awards from
Conde Nast
Traveler -
Gold List
2016,
TripAdvisor
Traveller's
Choice Award
2016, 3
Lilies from
Relax Guide
2016, &
TripAdvisor
Certificate
of
Excellence
(for the
years
2011/12/13/14/15).
So if you
are reading
this you
must make
your
reservations
now to
Stanglwirt.
Make sure to
mention my
name when
you get
Maria Hauser
and Johannes
Hauser and
later you
can meet the
rest of the
family. They
have
different
prices, so
it depends
upon the
season. You
cannot delay
in going
there.
Because when
you are
there, you
will feel
like you are
in heaven on
earth in the
Austrian
Alps. Once
you are
there enjoy
the
different
spas with
their unique
designs. One
looks like a
cave and
another spa
has a
waterfalls
and so many
other
gorgeous
designs,
designed by
the genius
Balthasar
Hauser. It’s
like
Disneyland
for adults
and children
visiting the
Austrian
Alps. You
do not worry
about the
children
because the
children has
there own
WATERWORLD
and also a
FARM HOUSE
that they
can play and
feed the
animals with
the help of
the staff. This
is what
makes you
keep on
coming back.
I always
felt great
and peaceful
and relaxed
when I visit
Stanglwirt.
This place
should
always be on
your BUCKET
LIST. It is
always on
mine. There
is a
beautiful
village
called
Kitzbuhel
close to
Stanglwirt
where you
can buy
beautiful
Austrian
gifts and
trinkets.
Stanglwirt
is only one
hour away
from Munich
and
Salzburg. To

about
Stanglwirt

From there
we left for
Munich and
then to
Paris on the
Rail Europe.
Munich to
Paris is
only 4 1/2
hours so we
decided to
take the
train from
Munich to
Paris
because we
want to see
the scenery.
It was still
early when
we arrived
in Paris so
we went
shopping
after we
checked in
(since I had
been to
Paris almost
a 100
times). I
know all the
secret
special
places where
to shop
because my
friend Tina
Francisco
showed and
shared them
with me. I
have known
Tina for
almost 20
years and it
will
be great
to see her
again. When
we got back
to the Hotel
Crown Plaza,
Tina and her
daughter
Audrey were
waiting for
us in the
lobby. So
Alicia,
Elise,
myself, Tina
and Audrey
went around
Paris
checking
different
restaurants,
and when we
found the
perfect spot
we stopped
and had
dinner
there. We
all had such
a grand time
reminiscing
about our
pasts in
Paris.
The
following
day the
three of us
went to the
famous
Louvre
Museum to
see their
beautiful
collections
including
the Mona
Lisa, and
then we went
to Champs- Elysees to
find Elise
favorite
Macaroons,
and then we
ate at one
of the
famous
restaurants
there, as
well. Time
flew by so
fast,
especially
when you are
having fun.
It was time
to fly back
home. So we
all left for
the airport
and checked
in with the
United
Airlines
Boeing 777 –
one of my
favorite
planes,
besides of
course the
Dreamliner
787.
