Our Christmas celebration was another fabulous event full of life and fun. Everyone was in a festive mood, socializing and conversing with guests. Our ladies were all dressed so beautifully. Most of them showing up in red evening gowns to celebrate Christmas and the gentlemen were dressed in their very best attires. You could feel that Christmas joy was in the air… everyone was having such fun. They were exchanging gifts and conversing with each and every one. New York City is full of life, especially around Christmas. There are several Christmas tree lighting in different parts of the city. Beautiful decorations abound, you could see them in every shop, on the streets, and Christmas songs joyfully playing in stores and offices. Our city becomes full of tourist shopping at our great stores so that they can take home amazing Christmas gifts.

 

Christmas is another favorite time of the year for me, which begins with Thanksgiving. I love the way Christmas decorations look on different houses, condos, apartment buildings, offices, and stores. It reminds me of growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii. There we went out of our way to decorate for Christmas. All the buildings, stores, offices, apartment buildings, and condos in Honolulu are decorated with twinkling Christmas light. The real tall trees are decorated with Christmas lights and lanterns with a variety of colors, truly remarkably beautiful. I still dream about it every time when Christmas arrives.

 

I love the scent of pines, all those Christmas trees, and the smell and taste of cinnamon in hot apple cider. Also, I love the taste of the mulled hot red wine spiced w/ cinnamon and other spices in German “Gluehwein” served during the cold winter months specially for christmas- a most famous warm recipe originated in Germany and Vienna, Austria. When I happened to be in Germany and in Vienna, Austria in December (before my flight to Dubai and the other areas of the Emirates) I will go to the middle of the Plazas both in Germany and in Vienna, Austria because during the month of December they put up tents which everyone surrounds where they serve Gluehwein and you see strangers having fun conversations. Gluehwein tastes the best when drinking it outside when the temperatures are low. Afterwards we all go to the Christmas market where both in Germany and Vienna, Austria they are open to the public in the evenings where it is fun to go around shopping for unusual and unique products for Christmas gifts.

 

If I am back to New York City celebrating Christmas or New Years in the city, Me & our friends will get together for celebrations with my long-time friend Chef Frederick, originally from Germany who makes Gluehwein for us. He makes several pots which we can all enjoy especially when the weather gets so cold. It is so nice to hold a warm cup of Gluehwein in the palm of your hand while you drinking the beverage. It is so amazingly warm and flavorful…

 

One of my great pleasures is listening to Christmas music. But most of all… I love Christmas because is it is the time of the year of loving and thoughtful giving. This is such a special time. It is the time when we reflect, give gifts, give gratitude to people who have helped us, those who are nice to us throughout the whole year, and also to give to those who are unfortunate.  If you are not giving throughout the whole year Christmas is a wonderful time to give and show your gratitude to friends and to all the people around us who help and support us. A way to give is with little gifts like paying for someone's coffee when you go to any café, or maybe buying them a sandwich. You will be surprised how you can make people happy just for any small gesture. And if you see a disabled person please try to help them out, they will most
certainly appreciate your help.

 

And if know of anyone who does not have a family member in New York, please do invite them to join your own family on Christmas or New Year’s Celebration. I always invite someone, so as not to feel so lonely for the holidays, I consistently did this when I was living in Honolulu, and also do that here in New York - when I happen to be here. I will not be here for Christmas this year because I will be visiting my relatives in Seattle and in Canada. This is a change from always visiting my family and friends in Europe, Dubai and other parts of the Emirates.  I plan to be back for New Year’s Eve and have already invited all my single friends to join us for dinner at Bill Lanndis’ home and then afterwards we will all party at the Intercontinental Barclay Hotel to celebrate New Year’s evening with many other European guests at the Hotel. We do this every year and always have such grand fun. You are more than welcome to join us. Do let me know ahead of time.

 

As always we had so many of our regular and new guests that attended that evening. We were packed with many of our members from Elite Professional Networking Group (EPNG) and friends of Black Tie International Magazine. Our guests always have such a fabulous time especially when celebrating Christmas. So many of them came to celebrate with us…this included our long-lasting friends and great new found friends. Consistently at these wonderful gatherings we get to meet so many new faces who were invited by our regulars and our new friends. And of course, all of us had to make sure that new friends and all the guests are all having fun.

 

Our Celebrity guest was the lovely Rita Cosby, Emmy Award Winner Rita Cosby

Rita Cosby is a Television News Anchor and Correspondent, Radio Host & Best Selling Author. She is currently a Special Correspondent for CBS syndicated program, the Inside Edition. Cosby has received many awards which includes three Emmy Awards, The Jack Anderson Award for Investigative Excellence, The Matrix Award, The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and the Lech Walesa Freedom Award. October 11, 2010 was declared "Rita Cosby Day" in the state of New York for her "extraordinary journalism and exemplary service on behalf of her community. We are always happy to have Rita Cosby at our events when she gets an opportunity. The last time she could not make it was due to covering the past election. That night she also had several speaking engagements, but she came to our event first. Rita is a very lovely lady and very friendly. We all enjoyed talking to her and the guests enjoyed having their pictures taken with her.

 

Once again we had our long-time friend Award Winning Producer, Director & Writer Dean Love who made Life in Mars, FBI File, Queen Elizabeth 1 (The Virgin Queen) and many other movies . We are always glad when he takes a break from his filming to join us. We are all happy to have him because he is a wonderful man.  Also, attending was Economist Wojtec Trocewicz of the Polish Consulate who is married to the beautiful and charming Sabina Klimek, the Trade Commissioner of Poland also stopped by on her way before her several speaking engagement events. Wojtec entertained us that evening providing us with great music and songs. During Christmas so many events are happening throughout the entire city. We were very glad for them joining us to celebrate Christmas. Also in attendance Georgios Michailides from the Trade Mission of Greece.

 

We also had lovely Latin Celebrity Karen Hoyos attending. She is a life coach and speaker. And of course we were joined again by our beautiful models. This time we had International models starting off with European Super Model, Beauty Queen, and Actress Angelina Shipilina, and European Super Models: Liga Freimane, Elena Konovalova, Jana Respo, Lainnie Mullen, Dana and Model Mary Tavarez originally from Puerto Rico. We were also joined by Richard Alan the Founder/Partner of Richard Alan Management, Gerard McKeon Publisher of Black Tie International Magazine and Chef Frederick who is originally from Germany. Also attending was Award-Winning Singer PBS TV Host Christina Fontanelli scheduled for a concert on December 18. She puts on a beautiful Concert named Christmas in Italy. ENTERTAINMENT BY: Wojtek Trocewicz & Gina Vasques

Wojtek Trocewicz is a Polish Economist and a pianist. He came to New York two years ago and started working for the Polish Consulate. Now he works for hedge fund services, however his greatest passion is music in the style of Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, and Frank Sinatra and many others (he plays around 1,000 tunes). Gina Vasquez - Gina is a professional Belly Dancer, performer and instructor. Gina has been belly dancing for 11 years throughout the Tri-State area and abroad. Gina enjoys teaching this art form to women and children. At her daytime job Gina is a family mental health counselor. For contact email her at narcisa62@aol.com. We had an Art Exhibition by Henry M. Soto. Henry has a background in Architecture & Interior Design, and his passion for drafting and drawing inspired him to create art. Henry is a self-taught Columbian American artist. He offers unique innovative collection of one-of-a-kind digital artworks. These works can be a part of your decor at your business and residences. Many of our guests were very impressed with his beautiful art. Henry will be having another exhibition at our next event our Welcome New Year Celebration on January 10. 2017. The evening lasted way past midnight again due all of us and our guests having such fun talking and networking. Award winner Singer/PBS Host Cristina Fontanelli stayed with us till the end with the other guests.  As always we gave out our monthly door prizes to our lucky guests and the winner of the 5 night 4 day stay in a Cancun Resort was Chef Frederick. He was traveling so he missed our events for a number of months.  Amazingly the first time back he was the lucky winner of the Cancun Resorts tickets. And European Model Jana Respo won the original painting by Henry Soto she was listening this. The last time she was very busy socializing with the guests so she missed when her name was called as a winner for the 5 nights 4 days stays in a Cancun Resorts. So this time she was right in front of the stage when we started
to give out the door prizes.
